Statutory Consultation on Planned Admission Numbers for the 2011/12 Academic Year

All Primary and Secondary Schools
(excluding Nursery and Special Schools)

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 The County Council is responsible for setting the annual Planned Admission Number (PAN) for all community and VC schools, in consultation with governing bodies.

1.2 VA and Foundation schools are responsible for setting their own PANs in consultation with the County Council.

1.3 For the proposed Planned Admission Numbers for the 2011/12 academic year, we are again consulting schools electronically via the Norfolk Schools website.

1.4 Following the consultation period, which ends on 26th February 2010, the County Council is required to inform schools of the PAN's set for all primary and secondary schools for the 2011/12 academic year including VA and Foundation - we will do this during April. PAN's are subsequently published in the Parents' Guide issued each academic year. Academies have been included in the consultation.

1.5 Planned Admission Numbers are only set for primary and secondary schools - this consultation does not therefore include special or nursery schools.

2. FEEDBACK IS REQUIRED BY 26th FEBRUARY 2010

2.1 You need to check the proposed Admission Number for 2011/12 for your school and seek the agreement of the governing body to the figure. This agreement should subsequently be minuted at a full meeting of the governing body.

2.2 Please use the feedback form on the Norfolk Schools website to let us have your agreement or disagreement to the PAN and any comments on the proposal by 26th February 2010.

2.3 The consultation page for your school can be accessed via Norfolk Schools http://www.schools.norfolk.gov.uk/go/admissionnumbers
You need to be logged in to 'My School' to access this page.
The 'Admissions Number consultation for 2011/12' is in the 'Buildings' sub-section listed on the left hand side of the page. The form includes the previous Admission Number for 2010/11 and the proposed admission number for 2011/12 with reasons for any proposed changes.

3. List of All Schools' Planned Admission Numbers

3.1 The County Council is required to consult all mainstream schools with the proposed PAN for every school. A table listing the proposed PAN for all schools is on the Norfolk Schools website at the following link:
https://www.esinet.norfolk.gov.uk/rande/admissionnumber/all%20schools%20summary%2011_12.xls

3.2 The All Schools spreadsheet is listed on the left hand side of the Esinet page and will be updated periodically to reflect any changes made during the consultation period.
