Single Equality Scheme
Equalities and Diversity - Updated Information on Norfolk Schools Intranet Page
A series of workshops, 'Developing and Implementing a Single Equality Scheme' aimed at headteachers, governors and senior staff responsible for policy, were developed and delivered by the Human Resources Equalities and Diversity Officers in November 2009.
The aim of these workshops was to launch a single equality scheme toolkit, framework and legislative guidance documents. These documents can be accessed by schools via the Norfolk Schools website.
Many attendees welcomed the sharing of best practice therefore to further aid this sharing activity, a new page has been created on the Norfolk Schools intranet, under 'Safeguarding and Equalities', 'Equalities', 'Sharing best practice examples'. Also included is activity information and materials provided at the workshops.
The Norfolk schools equalities pages have been further updated to consolidate equalities information into one place. Information includes Ofsted - Inspecting equalities guidance for inspectors along with ideas on how to consult and involve stakeholders, equality and diversity training available to staff, as well as equalities contacts and resources.
