May 2010 (Summer) School and Pupil Census

The DCSF requires all schools to complete their May 2010 School and Pupil Census return on 20th May 2010. Please ensure you're your School and Pupil Census file reaches the Information and Research Centre no later than 20th May 2010. Files should be sent using AnyComms (AVCO) data transfer system.

Please note the following main issues regarding the May (Summer) School and Pupil Census:

i) Data will not be required for the following modules:

  • Class Information
  • Staff Information
  • Reconciliation
  • Admission Appreals
  • Information Communications Technology (ICT)
  • Miscellaneous

    ii) All Exclusions: permanent, fixed term and lunchtime will need to be recorded in the May Census, as does Attendance data, Gifted and Talented Pupils and Post 16 Learning Aims (changes only).

    What can you do now?
    It is absolutely essential that you read the full DCSF guidance, which is available on the Teachernet website.

    E1 Schools
    Guidance notes are available from ICT Solutions website. It is recommended you undertake a dry run before census day.

    Non-E1 Schools
    Schools are requested to use their School Census compliant software to produce their School Census return.
