Management Information Sheet
Change from Team-Teach to Norfolk Steps
Aim
To build capacity within schools and services to support the inclusion of children with challenging or dangerous behaviours.
This is to inform you of the change from the programme previously delivered as Team-Teach to the equivalent nationally accredited programme called Norfolk Steps.
In November 2009 Norfolk Children's Services successfully accredited its own training package (Norfolk Steps) with the Physical Intervention Accreditation Scheme of the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD).
From January 2010, all BILD accredited courses provided by the School Performance Organisation and Inclusion Team will be delivered in the name of Norfolk Steps instead of the previous commercial package Team-Teach.
Those already trained in Team-Teach will not be affected until their re-accreditation is due. At this time you will be able to access a conversion course to Norfolk Steps.
Available Services
Training and consultancy in Norfolk Steps is available to all services providing care and education within Norfolk and those involved with the care or education of Norfolk children placed out of the county.
All Norfolk Steps training is modular and will be based on audited need. Restrictive Physical Intervention (RPI) modules will be provided based on needs identified through 'Individual Child Risk Management Plans'.

Access and Contacts
Immediately after this MI sheet is issued a letter will be sent to each school who has booked with this service post September 1st 2010. From this time we need to be in line with other arrangements for training and consultancy within schools and will therefore need to be charging at the standard adviser rate per day, and per half day. (NB twilights will be charged at the half day rate). Courses advertised within the Inset Opportunities book, within the section 'Inclusion, Personalisation and Additional Needs' will be charged at the standard INSET rate on a per person basis.
Access and further information can be gained by contacting the relevant adviser for your area, listed below.
