Consultation on the 2011/12 School Year
The proposed term dates for 2011/12 which have the support of the Eastern Region Term Dates Group, are attached. The Local Government Association has reduced the standard school year by one day to take account of the additional public holiday on 5 June 2012.
The calendar therefore provides 189 teaching days (shaded white) when schools must be open to pupils and on which home to school transport will be provided.
All days shaded orange and red are pupil holidays. Five of those days must be selected as staff training days and the hatched dates are those suggested for Norfolk. Alternatively schools may decide to work twilight sessions.
