Aim
The aim of the programme is to:
Role of Learning Platform Supporter
The role of the Learning Platform Supporter is to enhance subject teaching and learning in the classroom through the production and use of engaging content. This will focus on supporting and inspiring teachers to embed the use of the Learning Platform by identifying when and how to use it to further develop their teaching skills and improve the quality of learning opportunities and outcomes for pupils. Role of Learning Platform Supporter
The role of the Learning Platform Supporter is to enhance subject teaching and learning in the classroom through the production and use of engaging content. This will focus on supporting and inspiring teachers to embed the use of the Learning Platform by identifying when and how to use it to further develop their teaching skills and improve the quality of learning opportunities and outcomes for pupils. Key elements within this role will involve:
Creating interactive learning and teaching resources using the tools available within the county supported Learning Platform. | |
Delivering training and support for the county supported Learning Platform. | |
Exemplification of teacher e-confidence through the Norfolk e-confident Teacher programme. |
Application Process
Each applicant will be required to complete Learning Platform Supporter Application Form. | |
Each applicant will be required to provide a Learning Platform Supporter Agreement. | |
Each head teacher and applicant to sign and return the provided Learning Platform Supporter Agreement. |
Recruitment
The criteria for selection will included the following aspects:
Written agreement of School Head Teacher. | |
Completed application form and brief personal statement outlining: Track record of embedding ICT in learning and teaching, Experience of working with a Learning Platform to enhance learning and support teaching, Ability to collaborate with fellow professionals, Good communication and organisational skills. |
Further desirable experiences:
Track record of creating engaging learning resources. | |
Knowledge and experience of delivering relevant training to a diverse set of individuals. | |
Experience of collaborating with others online. |
Funding and Organisation
£9,000 per supporter for their school for one academic year - equivalent to one day per week release time (total 33 days), initial 3 days training for using the county supported Learning Platform (where required), 5 days to be used for collaborative content creation with other Learning Platform Supporters, One day per term for meetings - 3 days in total, 22 days for cluster support, Travel expenses will be paid by the Learning Platform Supporter's school. |
Models of support:
There will be a requirement to demonstrate that schools use advice and guidance based on a recognised adoption model and materials. Schools chose one model.
All models of support will involve:
Content creation for sharing within the county supported Learning Platform. | |
Cascade the training to the rest of the staff. | |
All Norfolk schools receiving training from Learning Platform Supporters will have access of up to 4 supply days (£150 per day). |
Possible models:
a. Release one member of staff for one to one training with the supporter. |
b. Release two members of staff for two days training with the supporter. |
c. Use supporter time during twilight sessions. An expectation of smaller schools would be to do this working with at least one other school. Supply cover used to release staff to work on the Learning Platform. |
d. A combination of the above. |
Monitoring
Learning Platform Supporters
Termly meetings include feedback progress. | |
Half termly highlight reports detailing, content created, support provided, schools supported, dates for following half term school visits | .

Random monitoring visits by Advisory Service. | |
End of year evaluation to monitor impact. |
School Support
LPS to submit brief online half-termly update on each supported school. | |
All schools to complete online evaluation forms after each session. | |
End of year evaluation on each school from the Learning Platform Supporter to monitor impact . |
