Management Information Sheet
Devolved Formula Capital (DFC) 2010/11 Allocation
The annual Budget Pack, detailing the funding available to your school for the financial year 2010/11, was sent out at the end of the Easter term.
This MI sheet is a reminder that the primary purpose of DFC is to enable schools to address their most urgent building needs, identified through condition and suitability surveys and Premises Development Plans (PDPs).
DFC expenditure has to be approved by the Planning and Buildings section of Children's Services, please make requests for approval via the Norfolk Schools website (see also MI sheet 242/09).
The DFC web pages have information regarding the use of DFC (FAQs) and details of how DFC is calculated, how to apply to use DFC, and the procedure where planning permission is involved.
Use of DFC in 2010/11
The County Council is expected to manage and administer the DFC scheme and ensure that schools spend their allocation on eligible expenditure. If an allocation is not used within three years, the DFE would expect to reduce future allocations correspondingly. The deadline for expenditure is 31 August each year in line with other standards fund grants. The deadline for spending the 2010/11 grant is 31 August 2013 and schools will lose any of their allocation not spent by this date.
Future years' DFC funding will be advised in December 2010.
