  • Provide an operational and strategic lead/oversight for work streams of the service ensuring effective provision of services for schools and other clients in relation to extended services and community strategies.
  • Lead on the development of the Extended Services and Community Strategy, to be responsible for the quality assurance of Extended Services delivery.

Because of their extensive knowledge, Peter Simmonds and Virginia Wakely will continue to provide ongoing advice and support on the Extended Services Disadvantage Subsidy*. This funding runs through to the end of August 2011 and there is likely to be a review of the overall spending of the grant during the Summer Term.

More detail about future funding of Extended Schools will be issued to schools as soon as this is known but, in the meantime, schools might like to read the What does the Spending Review mean for me? article on the DfE website and the Secretary of State's letter to schools - go to www.education.gov.uk.
