SIMS Roadshow Update
Technical Pilot
The ten schools who are part of the technical pilot are now live on SIMS and are currently using the system. Overall it has gone very smoothly but there have been some initial teething problems, these are currently being worked on by both Capita and ICTS Solutions staff. Schools who have been notified that they are on the Early Adopter Courses (EA1 or EA2) will be contacted if these issues impact on their current rollout plan.
Additional Roadshow
In response to demand, two additional SIMS Roadshows will be held in Norwich, at the Professional Development Centre on 9 February 2011. The morning session is now full, however, there are still places for the afternoon session available. The roadshow is specifically open to Primary, Special and PRU phase schools that have not yet decided/ confirmed whether they wish, or do not wish, to be included in the SIMS migration.

Moving to SIMS
Over 230 schools have chosen to move to SIMS and planning of the roll out is on going. There are still some schools who have not notified ICT Solutions whether they wish to move across to SIMS. If you are one of these schools please email ictsolsprojectsupport@norfolk.gov.uk and let the Project Manager know whether you are intending to move to SIMS or remain with e1.
Roll Out Plan
The twenty schools who have been allocated training places on the two Early Adopter Courses in February have been notified. Unfortunately it- has not been possible to give everyone who applied to be an early adopter, one of the twenty places available. (Over 140 schools volunteered to be Early Adopters). Those who were not selected, will be allocated a place in the roll out plan as early as possible.
Data Cleansing
There are some data cleansing checks that need to be carried out before moving from e1 to SIMS. A document has been produced by ICT Solutions staff to assist with this process. The documentation is currently being sent directly to schools with the roll out information. However, the latest version will be placed on the ICT Solutions website shortly for schools who wish to start their data cleansing now.
e1 Contracts for schools not moving to SIMS
We would advise schools who are considering contracting directly with Pearson Phoenix, to have the Pearson's proposed e1 contract reviewed by your legal representative.
