Management Information Sheet
School Term and Holiday Dates 2012/13 and 2013/14
The Local Government Associations (LGA) recommendations have been considered within
the Eastern Region Term Dates Group and the agreed models on which we are consulting are attached.
For 2012/13 we are adopting the LGA model, but the model proposed for 2013/14 meant a Christmas break of less than two weeks,
so the regional group agreed to change the autumn term start date, in order that a two week break over Christmas 2013 could be achieved.
The calendars each provide 190 teaching days (white) when schools must be open to pupils and on which home to school transport will be provided. Five days must be selected within pupil holiday periods for staff development and for ease of reference we have coloured Norfolk’s proposed dates purple. All days shaded orange, red and purple are pupil holidays.
If you have any comments on the proposed dates, please send them to Janine Birt, School Organisation Team, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DL, or by email to Janine Birt by Friday 1 April 2011.
