Management Information Sheet
School Term Dates 2012-13 and 2013-14
Thank you to everyone who responded to the consultation on the 2012/13 and 2013/14 school years. All comments received were taken into consideration and the dates for both years have now been set. The calendar provides 190 teaching days (shown white) when schools must be open to pupils and on which home to school transport will be provided.
Schools must select 5 days for staff development from the pupil holiday periods which are shaded orange. We suggest that staff development takes place on the following dates:
If you choose alternative staff development days they must be taken from within the pupil holiday periods (shown in orange) or disaggregated to twilight sessions, but in any event all schools will be closed to pupils on the 5 days that we recommend above.
Could we remind you of the importance of publishing your calendar ahead of the start of the school year so that all staff know when they should attend for staff development and what holiday dates are available to them.
* These dates will be reviewed when the examination timetables for 2013 and 2014 are published.
