New Process for Purchasing Postage from Post Office
The UK domestic cheque guarantee card scheme closed on 1st July 2011.
As a result, Post Offices will officially no longer accept cheques for purchases without validation.
In future schools can buy postage using a purchasing card or by cheque, if validated by a cheque authority card. Schools can apply for this using a Cheque Authority Card application form, available from all Post Offices. The card needs to be shown when purchasing postage by cheque, and can only be used at the Post Office branch nominated on the application form.
