HSE Improvement Notice Football Goalposts: Revised Guidance on PE in Primary Curriculum Health and Safety Code of Practice
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has issued an Improvement Notice to the County Council following an incident last term at a Norfolk Primary school where a pupil was injured when a free standing football goalpost fell against him. HSE has required NCC to provide improved information to schools on the installation, maintenance and inspection of goal posts.
Therefore, section 4.5 on PE in the Primary Curriculum Health and Safety Code of Practice has been updated to provide greater detail on safe practice regarding goalposts. Headteachers and staff teaching PE must ensure that they are familiar with and working to this revised guidance.
