Governor Awards 2012
Norfolk Children’s Services highly values the work of school governors and clerks to governing bodies. They give freely of their time and expertise in an important and responsible job with the purpose of securing the best possible education for children and young people. For the third year, and again inconjunction with the Norfolk Governors’ Network, Norfolk Children’s Services is marking its gratitude to governors and clerks by presenting awards foroutstanding service.
If you know a governor or clerk to governors, in your own school or elsewhere in the county, who you feel has contributed especially to the improvement of schools, please consider nominating him or her for an award. Their contribution may have been in a specific aspect of school improvement or over a long period of time (but should not just be for longevity). You will be asked to explain in the nomination form what it is this governor or clerk hasachieved and why you regard this as above and beyond the normal work of school governors or clerks, important as this is in itself.
The award is not competitive or categorised as we believe that excellence can take many forms.
The awards will take the form of certificates of appreciation that will be presented at a ceremony in June. All winners and their nominators will be invited.
Nominations should be sent to Alison Neale, Norfolk Children’s Services,Professional Development Centre, Woodside Road, Norwich, NR7 9QL, or at alison.neale@norfolk.gov.uk in either hard copy or electronically, by close of business on 30th April 2012.
Additional nomination forms can be downloaded from the Norfolk Governors’ Network site at: www.ngn.org.uk
We hope that you will give serious thought to nominating anyone you consider worthy of a public accolade for outstanding governor service.
