Practical Support for SENCOs in Norfolk

Norfolk SENCOs are invited to attend a practical themed conference aimed at supporting them fulfil their essential role for learners with SEND.
The day will include:
An opportunity to listen to the first hand account of a 'cluster SENCO' and a school based SENCO from Nottingham describe their collaborative working in clusters
Practical details for SENCOs on the Norfolk 'cluster tool kit'
Workshops introducing 'how to' guides - overcoming barriers to learning for high incidence SEN
Core information on transition planning, preparing for tribunals, the Equality Act, and Safeguarding
Practical guidance on Ofsted preparation including, using data to evidence base progress, writing case studies, the progression guidance and the four functions of Learning Support
The overall aim of the conference is to ensure that SENCOs in Norfolk can feel 'confident and competent' to start the process of cluster distribution of SEN funding in September 2012.
Essential SENCO Network member: No charge (funded as part of annual membership)
Non-members: Maintained school £40
Academy/Independent/Free school £80
Booking is essential as places are limited due to venue capacity. Bookings should be made via http://www.cpd.norfolk.gov.uk/sdms/ using course code ENWH2. Online bookings are limited to one per school, any additional places will be charged at the above rate.
