New Inspection Arrangements for Maintained Schools and Academies from September 2012
The new framework for Ofsted Inspection will take effect from 1st September 2012. All schools need to be aware of the content of the new Framework for the Section 5 Inspection of Schools and its accompanying Handbook (available on the Ofsted website www.ofsted.gov.uk). The changes contained within these documents will have a significant impact on all schools.
To support and inform schools of the key changes and to help leaders and governors to prepare for inspection, the Local Authority is running a series of twilight briefings in the week commencing 17th September [click here to book]. I recommend that the Headteacher and Chair of Governors (or representative from the governing body) should attend. There will be no cost for the briefings but places are limited to a maximum of two per school.
