Merger of Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA)
On 1 December 2012, the CRB is merging with the ISA and will be called the Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS). All documents and website information will therefore be re-branded and a new logo will be used. (Where there is a requirement to submit a paper application form, we are able to use current stocks until 28 February 2013, however from 1 March 2013 only DBS application forms will be processed).
Current CRB certificates will continue to remain valid and all current services offered by the CRB and ISA will continue. DBS Certificates will be issued for all checks completed from 1 December 2012.
The new terminology following this change will be as follows:
The new DBS website homepage will be www.homeoffice.gov.uk/dbs.
We are currently in the process of changing documentation and information on Schools Peoplenet to reflect these changes.
