Requests for Support (RFS)
The home school must fully complete the RFS and submit this electronically to Children's Services |
Home schools must send a copy of the RFS to the preferred SRB. |
At least one SRB must be identified on the referral form. It is acceptable for home schools to name more than one SRB on the RFS |
RFS should be accompanied by only relevant cogent evidence |
Submitting the RFS
There is a single mailbox for all SRB RFS: cs.srb@norfolk.gov.uk |
All SRB RFS and accompanying evidence are expected to be electronic |
Only in exceptional circumstances will paper copy referrals be accepted. They should be sent to this single address: Children's Services SRB Panel Level 1 Carrow House, 301 King Street Norwich, NR1 2TN |
RFS sent to the wrong mailbox or postal address will be 'returned to sender' |
Incomplete RFS will be returned to the referrer |
Panels
The revised panel timetable used for 21st November panel will be followed for the Spring Term panels. |
The spring term panels will take place at Carrow House, Norwich |
The summer term panels will take place at Lakeside 500 |
The deadlines for receipt of RFS set out in the Terms of Reference will be strictly applied. Late RFS will be deferred to the next panel |
Placements
All placements will be for a full day - no 'sessional' placements will be agreed, except in exceptional circumstances - please see below |
Transport
Transport provision will honour the school day in the SRB
If there are exceptional circumstances why a pupil needs to attend for part-days at the start of a placement, for example phased integration to the provision, then this needs to be agreed by the Panel Chair at the SRB admissions panel and reflected on the transport application form forwarded by Business Support following the panel. |
Any agreement for part-day attendance must be for no more than 6 weeks (where possible a gradual transition to full days should be planned over 4 weeks). |
Further details on transport arrangements can be found in MI 187/12. |
Outcomes of SRB admissions panels
A copy of the offer letter to parents/carers will be sent to the home school and the SRB host |
Full minutes of the panel will be published within 2 working weeks of the panel meeting |
Outcomes will not be provided to individual enquirers ahead of the publication of the minutes and the admission letters |
