Norfolk consultation on admission arrangements in Norfolk for September 2014

Norfolk County Council is required to consult on the proposed co-ordination schemes for September 2014 and on proposed admission arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools.

This document details Norfolk County Council's proposed co-ordination schemes including the proposed timetables for Norfolk primary and secondary school admissions for September 2014. It also includes proposed changes to the admission arrangements for all Norfolk Community and Voluntary Controlled schools for first admission to schools. All other admission policies for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools are proposed to remain unchanged from the 2013 arrangements.

An electronic form will enable consultees to respond to these proposals. Alternatively a paper form can be printed from the Admissions website.

All other admission authorities (Voluntary Aided, Foundation and Trust schools and Academies and Free schools) are required to consult on their proposed admission arrangements and consultation must be concluded by 1 March each year. Any changes to these schools existing policies must be detailed on the school's website inviting comments on the proposals.

The County Council will also display on School Finder on our website admission arrangements for own admission authority schools who wish to use this facility and schools can also comment on these proposals via School Finder.

The Local Authority has highlighted the consultation on our website to facilitate a wide range of responses but we also request that schools inform parents of the consultation via school newsletters or other communications.

Proposals for September 2014 are:

  • No changes proposed to Admission Co-ordination and timetables for 2014/15
  • Proposal to continue in-year co-ordination for all Norfolk schools for 2014/15
  • Revision to over-subscription criteria for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools proposing additional criteria to give priority to siblings of statemented pupils, pupils with a disability and those attending feeder junior schools

Responses must be returned by 28 February 2013 and can either be input directly via the online response form or by completing the paper response form which can be found on our website and returned to:
