Fischer Family Trust - Important updates for Schools and Academies
FFT provides data to support improvement for individual pupils, groups of students and schools. The data is provided at: www.fftlive.org The Local Authority (LA) recommends the use of FFT estimates to support the process of target setting and FFT value added data to support school self-evaluation to inform intervention strategies. It should be noted that, when using FFT estimates to inform your target setting, you should select estimates which will challenge aspiration by using an estimate rank of 25% or higher, to place your school in the top 25% of schools nationally.
FFT has always responded to change to ensure schools and academies have the data they need, whilst also pioneering new ideas. Their ethos is that at the heart of school improvement lies high quality evidence-based planning, appropriate intervention and challenging but realistic expectations. Moreover, with the removal of Contextual Value Added from RAISEonline, the range of data available from FFT can be especially useful in supporting continuous improvement. The LA will continue to offer training on all aspects of FFT data.
From 1 April 2013, the Fischer Family Trust is implementing a revised charging structure. The LA will continue to subscribe to FFT, but will be charged an LA basic subscription plus an additional charge for each school or academy. To continue to have access to their FFTLive data, schools and academies will need to subscribe to FFT in one of two ways, either via the Local Authority, or direct from FFT. In the spirit of partnership, the LA intends to bulk-purchase the data for all schools and provide it at a significantly discounted rate, as described below.
From 1 September 2013 there will be a charge for accessing FFTLive.
Subscriptions to FFTLive will be based on the academic year, but should be registered by 31st March in your contract with the Local Authority that begins on 1 April 2013 (this applies to schools only, academies would need to register FFT in their contract beginning 1 September 2013).
If you wish to subscribe, please ensure your contract is updated to include FFT. Queries relating to contracts should be sent to the Services to Schools Team at S2S@norfolk.gov.uk.
Cost of subscribing to FFT via the Local Authority for the academic year 2013/14:
Primary Schools and academies: £60 per school (flat rate)
Secondary Schools and academies: £300 per school (flat rate)
(Alternatively, direct purchase from FFT will cost £250 primary, and £1000 secondary)
These charges supersede the proposals outlined in MI Sheet 240/11 which were based on The Fischer Family Trust's 2012 pricing structure.
For schools: the information above has also been published in the 'Services to School 2013/14' brochures, in Section 1, headed 'Performance Data' (item 1.5). MI Sheet 14/13, published in January 2013, gives further information about the Services to Schools brochures. Please ensure you include FFT if you want access to FFTLive from 1 September.
For academies: the brochure to cover the academic year 2013/14 will be published in June and will include the information above. When renewing your contract, please ensure you include FFT if you want access to FFTLive. The charges will be as above.
From 1 September 2013, FFTLive Admin user-accounts for all schools and academies that have updated their contract to include FFT will remain active and Chris Jackson and Dom Mingaye can provide support and advice on accessing, using and interpreting FFTLive data. Schools that have not updated their contract to include FFT will have their user-accounts de-activated at the end of August.
