Promoting good behaviour in Norfolk Schools; Practice guidance

NCC Children's Services have recently updated guidance concerning behaviour management, support, provision and resources. The overview section will be of particular interest to Headteachers, Governors and Leadership teams while the toolkits and resource database have been designed to be of practical use to all staff in schools.

The revised behaviour management information is in several sections which include:
  • An overview of legislation, national and local policies and expectations on schools with regard to managing behaviour and developing whole-school behaviour & discipline policies. This should be of particular interest to headteachers and governing bodies
  • An explanation of the different tiers of need along with practical toolkits on best practice and details of the support and provision available to meet need. These have been designed to be of practical use to all school-based practitioners
  • A wide-ranging database of national and local resources available to support practitioners in schools. This may also be of interest to external professionals and parents
  • Proformas which have been developed locally to assist schools with managing and recording pupil behaviour.

The materials can be accessed on Norfolk Schools website.
