Management Information Sheet
Ofsted update
Subsidiary Guidance
At the end of February 2013 Ofsted updated their Subsidiary Guidance
This guidance supports the inspection of maintained schools and academies. The main section of update relates to paragraphs 103 – 113, Impact of Pupil Premium and Year 7 Catch-up / Expected progress / Floor Standards.
School Dashboard
On 27 February, Ofsted launched an on-line ‘School Data Dashboard’ designed to support governors to hold their schools to account.
This provides a simple, publically available overview on a single page of how effectively a school is performing in test and exam results and attendance compared to other schools. Each school will be compared with similar schools; that is, schools whose pupils had a similar (prior) attainment on entry. For Key Stage 2 schools this will be Key Stage 1 assessment results; for Key Stage 4 this will be the Key Stage 2 tests and assessments. The similar schools' group sizes were identified by grouping the schools with very similar pupil attainment on entry. There will be 60 secondary schools compared with each other and 120 for primary.
The school Dashboard is available for each school on its inspection report site within the Ofsted website
