The Department for Education launched their proposals and consultation entitled Primary assessment and accountability under the new national curriculum on 17 July 2013 and responses must be submitted by 11 October 2013.

This document contains significant and far-reaching proposals which will affect every school in terms of changes in expectations and demands at every key stage from EYFS to KS2. We know from the past, both that the rate of response to consultations from primary schools has historically been very low and also that where (as in the case of the Tickell Review of EYFS) it was high, these responses had enormous impact on the outcome.
