Since the Spring 2013 there have been a number of DfE guidance documents issued and re-issued with revised guidance concerning school attendance and flexi-schooling. This has led nationally and within the Ofsted process to an element of confusion. In addition a number of Headteachers have contacted the Local Authority as they have been approached by parents/carers requesting that a flexi-schooling agreement is set up for their child.

The attached guidance includes the latest information from the DfE (August 2013) should help schools develop their own school policy, and assist both schools and parents/carers when flexi-schooling is being considered as an option for a child.
