Dinner Monies Database

To take into account Universal Infant Free School Meals the Dinner Monies Database has been re-written. This will require all users re-install a new database rather than running an upgrade to the existing database.

To ensure that the records School Finance holds are accurate we are asking that all users of the current version of the Dinner Monies Database that wish to continue using the system after system register their interest. To do this an email should be sent to efs.ca@norfolk.gov.uk, with the subject “Dinners”, and the schools 4 digit Location Code stated in the email.

A link to the new installation file will be emailed to all schools that register that they wish to continue using the database in late August.

The operation of the database will remain largely the same as the previous version, however, some of the forms have been redesigned and the following changes have been made:

Registering Meals – Meals will no longer be registered as required by a tick box. All meals / milk / snacks will be driven by the “short code” function from the existing Dinner Monies Database.

Universal Infant Free School Meals (UiFSM) – Within pupil records a ‘Free Meals End Date’ field has been added. If this field contains a date any meal assigned to that pupil will incur no cost and will be added to the total number of Free School Meals required.

Within the ‘Class’ list, users will be required to indicate whether an entire class is entitled to UiFSM (Key Stage 1 Classes). Any meal assigned to a pupil in a KS1 class with no “Free Meal End Date” will incur no cost and will be added to the total number of UiFSM.

Multiple Sittings – The option to assign classes to different sittings has been added. If the multiple sittings function is activated any summaries produced within the Dinner Monies Database will be summarised per sitting.

Viewing Archives – Archives will no longer be viewed by importing a file. Direct access to the archive weeks has been provided on a read only basis.

We are aiming to provide a short presentation demonstrating the new functions, as described above, shortly. A PDF copy of the User Guide for the new version of the database (Version 1.01) has also been uploaded here
