Reminder to Schools - Procedure for claiming the Pupil Premium Plus Grant for Looked After Children

In a change to the Pupil Premium Conditions of Grant for 2014 – 2015, it is no longer a requirement to allocate a set amount per looked after child. Instead, the fund is now managed by the Virtual School Head and the allocation will be according to the pupil’s educational needs as described in their Personal Education Plan (PEP).

Just a reminder that if you want to apply for additional funding for your looked after children to improve their literacy and mathematics outcomes, then the Norfolk policy and application for funding can be found on ‘Perspective Lite’. A ‘Looked After Children’ section has been added where you can find the policy document and Pupil Premium Plus Grant Application. If required, you can download the application, complete it and upload using the tag ‘Looked After Children’. In order to ensure that Looked After Children pupil level data remains secure all applications for funding must be returned via ‘Perspective Lite’.

There is no automatic allocation of funding so you need to apply before the end of February 2015 for any funding to support intervention activity. The Norfolk Pupil Premium Plus Policy explains the process in detail.

For any further queries about the Norfolk protocol or application process please contact Wendy Rudd, Virtual School Development Manager.
