Norfolk County Council Approved List of Building Contractors
The Public Contracts Regulations require Norfolk County Council to periodically update its Approved List of building contractors to carry out repairs and maintenance to your school or premises.
The law is designed to open up the public procurement market to competition and to seek better value for money through best procurement practices.
Over the last few months the Council has managed this process by openly advertising and by considering all applications received through a qualification and tender process.
The Building Maintenance and Works Framework came into effect on 1 February 2015. Many of the contractors that have worked on your behalf in the past will continue to do so. You will also find that some new contractors are now available. In turn, you may find that some contractors previously ‘approved’ are no longer available on this framework. However any orders placed prior to the 1st February are still valid even if the contractor is no longer listed on the framework.
Attached is a guide which will hopefully assist you when trying to source contractors for building maintenance. However, all documents needed for this framework are available to you through the “Build Norfolk†website. Therefore it is recommended that you register as a buyer on www.buildnorfolk.co.uk. There is no charge to you for this and all documents are held in secure area for all public sector organisations to access.
If you need to contact us regarding this framework or would like someone to run through the guidance and the practicalities of further competition via this framework, please contact us be e-mailing buildingmaintenance@norfolk.gov.uk.
