Norfolk Better to Best Strategy

September 2015 sees the start of ‘Norfolk Better to Best’ as a development of N2GG.

ALL schools (including Academies and Free Schools) are invited to engage with the NB2B strategy. ALL schools will be able to design a programme of challenge and support for improvement tailored to their specific context.

To extend the existing N2GG offer, NB2B will provide a different ‘menu’ for each of the three groups of schools as defined by the LA risk assessment process: A/D; B/C and E/F.

The elements of the CORE menu will be offered to all schools for no additional cost once a bespoke programme has been agreed. For example:

  • Support from Denise Walker (or the Intervention Officer for A/D schools) in designing and measuring the impact of your school improvement programme
  • Headteacher Support Programme (through the Teaching School Alliances)
  • A link with a Local Leader of Education (through the Teaching School Alliances)
  • NIEAS CPD (2 daycourse) (and members’ rates for other NIEAS programmes, professional networks..)
  • Support for interpreting and presenting data (Half day course)
  • Advice for SEF/SIDP and Post Ofsted Action Planning (Half day course)
  • Review of the quality of teaching and learning (1 day course)
  • ‘Ready for Inspection?’ visit (1 day course)
  • Reduced price for access to The Key
  • 6 ‘Tea Parties’
  • 3 conferences

The ENHANCED menu comprises wider school improvement programmes through external providers. These will no longer be funded by NB2B but schools will be signposted to appropriate provision which has been quality assured through NB2B, provided with contacts and linked to schools where the scheme is having impact. For example:

  • M level study
  • Coaching for teachers and headteachers
  • The Brilliant Club
  • London Leadership Strategy
  • Challenge the Gap
  • Achievement for All
  • Teaching Leaders
  • PiXL
  • PATHS
  • Digismart
  • UROCK Space for Dialogue
  • EEF Literacy Octopus
  • NIEAS Teaching and Learning and Governance and Leadership programmes
  • …………. and many more

The membership fee for NB2B for one academic year from 1 September 2015 will be as follows according to the school’s number on roll:
