Arrangements for claiming the Pupil Premium Funding for Norfolk Looked After Children 2015-2016
The DFE Pupil Premium Conditions of Grant 2015-16 state that Virtual School Heads are responsible for the management and distribution of pupil premium funding and associated monitoring of outcomes for Looked After Children within their statutory role.
In Norfolk the following arrangements have been agreed for the financial year 2015-16:
- In May 2015 an initial allocation of £1,000 to schools/academies per Looked After Child on roll as at the 1st April 2015 and looked after for 6 months or more. (Eligible schools will have already received a letter of confirmation).
- To request additional funding to enable support and interventions over and above the £1,000 allocation, or where there is a case for funding Norfolk LAC who have been in care for less than 6 months, schools must complete the Pupil Premium Plus Grant Application form.
- All applications for funding within the 2015-2016 financial year must be received by the Virtual School by February 29th 2016.
The Pupil Premium Plus Policy for Norfolk Looked After Children April 2015-March 2016 explains the process in detail. A copy of the policy and application form can be found on ‘Perspective Lite’ within the summer 2015, Looked After Children section. If required, you can download the application, complete it and upload using the tag ‘Looked After Children’. In order to ensure the security of pupil level data all applications for funding must be returned via ‘Perspective Lite’.
