Management Information Sheet
KS4 Destinations Measures
The local authority would like to draw your attention to the following important message from the DfE which you should have also received direct:
The next set of destination measures are due to be published later this year. These show the destinations of 2012/13 KS4 and KS5 students in 2013/14.
Prior to including the KS4 data on the performance tables' website (www.education.gov.uk/schools/performance/), schools are given an opportunity to view the data as part of the quality assurance process. This helps them to understand the measure and to analyse the data for their school. It also helps DfE to ensure that the data is collected consistently. Last year, for example, this exercise identified a significant error that analysts were then able to fix prior to publication. Schools are not given the employment, training and NEET data. Whilst these are part of the DfE statistical first release publication, they are classed as experimental statistics and only the education destination measure appears in the school performance tables.
Schools received the data on the 29th June via the Key to Success website and it will be available for 2 weeks before being removed. Schools were notified, via email, when the data is available.
We would like to encourage you to access your data during this window in order to better understand the education destinations of your pupils which is a vital part of the process in ensuring that young people are able to participate in line with RPA.
You should already have been provided with information on the destinations of previous Year 11 cohorts as part of Norfolk County Councils' annual Activity Survey. However if you wish to request this data again please contact Mark Horton on mark.horton@norfolk.gov.uk
