Measuring the impact of Pupil Premium for Looked After Children 2014 - 15
The Virtual School Head is responsible for making sure that pupil premium funding for Looked After Children helps to meet the needs identified in the children’s personal education plans and raises their attainment. This has to be included in an annual report as required detailed in Ofsted’s framework for the inspection of services for looked-after children.
To assist with this process we are in the process of sending a proforma via Perspective Lite to all schools who received the funding for looked after children in 2014 – 15. You may have already received this however, if not you will do so in the very near future. It can be downloaded for completion from the Summer 2015/Looked After Children tab, Pupil Premium Impact 2014-15 within Perspective Lite. Once completed, it should be uploaded to the documents area/tab where you should select the ‘send files’ option.
The proforma has been modelled on the template included in the Pupil Premium Review guidance published last November by the Teaching Schools Council in partnership with John Dunford and is used to demonstrate how the funding has been used to raise attainment . Where appropriate, a brief case study can also be provided for additional context. As well as supporting the Virtual School analysis it will also be useful evidence in terms of within school pupil premium impact.
This information will be included in a county report which details the impact of the pupil premium funding for looked after children which will be shared with schools.
Please ensure this information is returned by 21 July 2015.
Please note: This pro-forma only applies to funding managed by the Virtual School Head in respect of Looked After Children. It does not relate to any other pupil premium or additional funding.
