Energy Cost Transfer 2015/2016

Energy cost transfer 2015/2016

Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that an adjustment is necessary to the 2015/16 energy cost transfer between schools (i.e. for sent meals) in order to correct inaccuracies within the original data set and to improve the methodology of capturing the Universal Infant Free School Meal numbers within those energy charges. The revised energy memo for each affected school will be published on the budget share tracker in early October (www.efs.norfolk.gov.uk/budgetshare).

The revised charge has been calculated based on the amount of actual meals taken in 2014/15 academic year over and above the 2012/13 levels x number of catering days x 13.4 pence.

We are using the actual number of meals taken for the academic year 2014/15 as this is the most up to date and complete way in which we can calculate the charge based on a full year. This also allows for fluctuations that may have occurred at different times of the school year and includes the addition of Universal Infant Free School Meals which were introduced in September 2014.

Other than ad-hoc changes resulting from movements among sending kitchens and dining centres, or entrance/exit from the Norse scheme, there should be no need of further revisions this financial year as the methodology is based on prior year meal take-up.

We would like to apologise to those schools affected for any inconvenience caused.
