Preparing for Statutory Assessment at Key Stage 1 and 2: 2016
Following the introduction of the revised National Curriculum and the removal of Levels, there are significant changes to statutory testing and teacher assessment in 2016. Please see MI sheet 227/15 for more detail.
Now that all assessment arrangements have been finalised by the Department for Education, we are in a position to hold Assessment Briefings for Headteachers and Key Stage leads, to provide all of the information to ensure all Norfolk schools accurately assess pupils at the end of Key Stage 1 and 2, and prepare pupils appropriately to achieve as well as possible under the new arrangements.
By attending the briefings, you will have all the information you need to:
- Make robust teacher assessments against the interim Key Stage 1 and 2 teacher assessment frameworks
- Understand which pupils should and should not be entered for the tests
- Assess and report the achievements of pupils working below the level of the tests and teacher assessment frameworks
- Prepare for statutory moderation in 2016
- Submit accurate achievement data to DfE
- Understand how the 2016 attainment and progress measures will be calculated, including the revised Floor Standards and proposed Coasting Schools criteria.
The briefing sessions are free, will last for 1.5 hrs and take place at the following venues:
