KS1 and KS2 Statutory Teacher Assessment - Getting it right!

Following an LA meeting with STA and the publication of the statutory teacher assessment exemplification for writing and mathematics we are now very clear as to the requirements for teachers in making and evidencing accurate teacher assessment.

We therefore invite a one year 2 and one year 6 teacher from all schools to attend a practical workshop to ensure they fully understand the criteria for assessment and how to evidence and record this. We will provide concrete guidance and record templates which we strongly suggest all schools follow. We have set the cost at £20 to enable all schools to attend.

Key Stage 1 Statutory Teacher Assessment - Getting it right!

  • Avoid under assessing pupils - ensure you recognise and evidence all they can do
  • Ensure that you have a sound evidence base for statutory assessment

The half day workshop is for teachers in year 2 who will be making statutory assessments at the end of Key Stage 1 and will cover:

  • The technical requirements of Writing Teacher Assessment
  • What counts as evidence under the Interim Teacher Assessment Frameworks
