NPHA Membership 2016 - 2017

With budget time upon us all again we wanted to aid your planning by letting you know the Norfolk Primary Headteachers' Association (NPHA) subscription fee for the 2016-17 academic year. Just to remind you, NPHA is for all primary phase school types across all corners of Norfolk.

We hope you agree that much progress has been made this year to build further momentum for NPHA and we have ambitious plans to take it up another gear, as we all continue to work together more effectively and with more confidence in our collective ability. Some of the key strands members can expect next year from NPHA are:

  • high quality subsidised CPD tailored to meeting the challenges heads and senior leaders face but also to making the most of opportunities
  • subsidised leadership conference (17th & 18th November at Center Parcs)
  • a coherent and proactive approach to Headteacher well-being
  • further development of recruitment and retention strategies through Educate Norfolk
  • representation on strategic groups - these groups make decisions that impact on all schools and potentially all children
  • peer to peer support
  • closer alignment with NSEL, the secondary heads' association, and collaboration with the Governor association
  • regular updates on local and national agendas.

At our Executive Committee meeting this week, we talked about 'recasting' national policies so that they fit for our schools. This isn't easy sometimes, but we are keen that NPHA networks and events help schools to make the most of things whilst keeping the main focus on improving pedagogy and developing leadership.

However, this can only be done with resources which are only possible through school subscription. The subscription fee for 2016-17 will be £250 per primary phase school and for Executive Headteachers/Principals of a formal federation/partnership/academy trust the subscription fee is £250 for the first school and £75 per school thereafter. Invoices will be sent out in July for the academic year ahead.

Please contact Helen Norton, Executive Officer, on helen.norton@norfolk.gov.uk or 07795904006, if you have any questions.

We very much hope that all schools will get involved next year so that we can fight the good fight together.

With best wishes

The NPHA Executive Committee
