New Opportunities for Schools - briefings for School Governors and Leaders

A briefing for school governors and leaders in Norfolk and East Anglia organised by the Regional Schools Commissioner and Norfolk County Council.

Following successful briefings last year, the Regional Schools Commissioner and Norfolk County Council would like to invite you and a fellow governor to a briefing session to outline the opportunities for schools arising from:

  • The Education Adoption Act
  • The Government's white paper 'Education Excellence Everywhere'
  • Our Norfolk Strategy 'A Good Education for Every Norfolk Learner'
The briefings will include:
  • An overview of the Academy Programme
  • The criteria for applications to form or join a Multi-Academy Trust
  • The implications of recent and planned legislation
  • Current and emerging developments to establish a self-improving school system in Norfolk
  • Support for governors and school leaders offered through the Regional Schools Commissioner's Office, the Education Partnership Service (Norfolk County Council) and Norfolk Governance and Leadership Service (Educator Solutions, NCC)
  • Opportunity for discussion, questions and answers

The content of the session will be relevant to all schools, including converter academies, regardless of size or current Ofsted grade.

The dates shown below are the available sessions and we would be delighted to see you at one of the briefings.
