Norfolk Careers Education & Guidance Good Practice Benchmark Survey

Norfolk County Council working with the Norfolk Secondary Education Leaders (NSEL) Executive and the County IAG Action Group are undertaking a survey of the quality of Careers Education and Guidance provision for 11-19 year olds in the County.

The purpose of the Benchmark Survey is to establish current arrangements for careers education and employer engagement, to identify and promote good practice across schools, and to identify further support needs in the County. The Survey questions have been adapted from the Gatsby Foundation’s Benchmarks of Good Careers Guidance published in 2014 combined with the ‘Careers Engagement’ good practice brief for schools developed by ASCL and NFER.

School Careers Guidance Coordinator’s are requested to complete the Benchmark Survey for their school. The Survey can be accessed at http://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/CEGreturn/ and should be completed by Friday 10th June 2016. The survey should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

What will happen with the results?

Schools will be able to print the results of their self-review to identify their strengths and areas for further development. An aggregated report of all the Surveys will be used with the NSEL Executive, the Education & Training Strategy Group and the County IAG Action Group in order to establish current arrangements and identify further development and support needs in the County. Individual school results will also be used by the IAG Action Group to identify and share good practice across Norfolk’s schools

Who to contact if require help?

Schools should contact Melvyn Ruff if they have questions, need help to complete the Survey or if they will have difficulty completing the Survey by the deadline.
