Education Library Service - new name for School Library Service

Norfolk SLS is now Norfolk Education Library Service.

Please ensure all relevant staff are aware of the name change and the full range of services, including: head teachers, principals, finance / business officers, literacy co-ordinators, staff with responsibility for the school library, teachers.

The name change from School Library Service to Education Library Service was a result of feedback from the range of educational settings and customers that the service supports and better reflects our range of services to the Education Sector and all educational settings in Norfolk and beyond, including: schools, Academies and Multi Academy Trusts, Early Years settings, sixth form colleges, Universities and the Norfolk Better to Best (NB2B) initiative.

The Education Library Service offers cost efficient services giving access to books to support the curriculum and reading for pleasure, a child focussed fully accessible mobile library, practical support, advice and training as well as inspiration and support to inspire reluctant readers. In the last few years new services have been introduced, most recently a specialist eBook platform for schools (with a free trial term). The Education Library Service has excellent feedback from customers, with 100% of customers saying that training, professional support, the mobile library visit and project loans are valuable or very valuable and have met or exceeded expectations. The team are always happy to be visited at the ELS base at County Hall and always want to hear ideas and suggestions about support and services that educators will find useful. Services can be purchased easily via s4s.norfolk.gov.uk
