New Requirements within the schools census - English language Proficiency levels
These sessions will provide follow-up to MAAS's initial briefings to those held in July (and which will also be repeated on these dates) regarding the new requirements of the DfE for schools to report levels of English proficiency for EAL learners in the schools' census from Autumn Term 2016.
In order to ensure that schools and academies make accurate assessments of their EAL pupils, these sessions will:
- Provide an opportunity for schools to examine the DfE proficiencies using case studies
- Ensure schools have the necessary systems in place to capture contextual information about EAL pupils
- Offer additional further support to schools to schools to help them improve EAL achievement
- Offer guidance in best practice for effectively monitoring EAL pupil progress.
Follow-up sessions will take place after briefings on:
- 20th Sept, NPCD at 2.30 - 4.00 pm
- 21st Sept, WNPDC at 2.30 - 4.00 pm
