SNITT becomes SCITT
Suffolk & Norfolk Initial Teacher Training (SNITT) became Suffolk & Norfolk SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) from 1 September 2016. This re-branding marks the reconfiguration of the organisation into two SCITTS: a Primary SCITT and a Secondary SCITT, each with Tuition Fee, Salaried and Assessment Only programmes. The new website can be found at: www.suffolkandnorfolkscitt.co.uk with full information about initial teacher training
Together with partnership schools, Suffolk & Norfolk SCITT offers trainee teachers a school based teacher training with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Master's credits and Qualified Teacher status. Trainees can follow either student or employment based programmes. The Assessment Only Route to QTS, designed for those working in schools as instructors, is also available across the Primary and Secondary phases.
If you know people in your school community who may have the talent to teach, why not refer them to our website: www.suffolkandnorfolkscitt.co.uk or to one of the following information events:
- 9 November 2016 - 6.15 pm Ormiston Venture Academy, Gorleston
- 24 January 2017 4.30 - 8.00 pm NCTL 'Train to Teach' event Ipswich Town Hall, Suffolk
Training teachers can be a great way to provide CPD for serving staff, inject new ideas into school and to recruit the best new talent. If you are not already involved as a school, why not get in touch? scitt.admin@suffolk.gov.uk
Consider joining a highly successful school/ITT partnership where 68% of last year's graduates qualified as outstanding trainee teachers and where regularly 96 - 98% secure jobs on completion of training, many in schools where they trained.
Currently, there are over 240 trainee teachers on Suffolk & Norfolk SCITT programmes which are supported jointly by Suffolk County Council, Norfolk County Council, University of Suffolk and 250 partnership schools. Why not join them?
