Specialist Resource Bases (SRB) - interim admission arrangements for LCN and KS3/4 BESD
Following the proposals announced within the recent Fair Funding Consultation relating to Learning and Cognition and KS3/4 Behaviour SRBs placements can only be agreed until the end of the current academic year until further notice.
For more information on these proposals and the recent SRB Recommissioning Recommendations please visit the Schools Forum pages on the Norfolk Schools Website.
There is also an immediate freeze on admissions to Hewett KS3/4 Behaviour SRB including the associated outreach service.
There will inevitably be a period of uncertainty from now until the future direction of travel for LCN and Behaviour KS3/4 SRBs is known. This is anticipated immediately after the committee decision making cycle in early 2017. It is really important that schools and officers work together to maintain parental confidence in SEN support and provision in Norfolk during this time. The key messages are:
- It is currently business as usual for all other types of SRBs and the vast majority are unaffected by these proposals (SLCN, BESD KS1, ASD KS1/2 and ASD KS3/4 SRBS).
- It is only LCN and BESD KS3/4 where interim admission arrangements apply.
- The County Council remains committed to providing the appropriate support and provision for children with special educational needs and disability through Norfolk’s Local Offer
- An update will be published on the e-courier as soon as it is available.
