Admission arranagements deteremination for 2018

1. Norfolk County Council determined the admission arrangements for Norfolk's Community and Voluntary Controlled schools and confirmed the admission coordination schemes and timetables for 2018/19 at a Children's Services Committee meeting on 23 January 2017.

  • No changes proposed to Admission Co-ordination and timetables
  • Proposal to continue in-year co-ordination for Norfolk schools
  • No changes proposed to admission policy for Community & VC schools

2. Own admission authority schools (academies, free schools, foundation, trust and voluntary aided schools) must determine their admission arrangements for September 2018 by 28 February 2017 even if the arrangements have not changed from the previous years. A copy of the determined arrangements must be sent to the local authority before 15 March and a copy of the arrangements must be displayed on the schools website.

3. Own admission authority schools should note that is requirement under paragraph 2.17 of the School Admissions Code to make clear in their admission arrangements the process for requesting admission out of the normal age range. The following sentence would be appropriate:

"We will consider all requests to place children outside of their normal age group including summer born and premature children in line with the requirements of paragraph 2.17 to 2.17B of the School Admissions Code"
