Anti-Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic (HBT) Bullying Programme

Schools are invited to complete an online self-assessment to evaluate their approach to preventing and tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) bullying.

Completing this assessment is the first step in taking part in a tailored programme of support and training, available to primary and secondary schools in Norfolk, through funding from the Department for Education.

Learn Equality, Live Equal is a two-year programme run by the National Children’s Bureau, as part of a collaboration between the Anti-Bullying Alliance and the Sex Education Forum, in partnership with Education Action Challenging Homophobia. Funding has been awarded to support schools across the South West, West Midlands, East Midlands and the East until March 2019. Key aims of the programme: • To support a whole school approach to preventing and responding to HBT bullying • To equip teaching and non-teaching staff with the knowledge, skills and confidence to tackle prejudice • To build inclusive school environments Our offer: • Targeted, bespoke support for school leaders • Specialist training and support for school staff and local authorities • Up-to-date resources and ongoing CPD What’s next? If you think schools in your area would benefit from this free programme of training and support, please complete the online self-assessment. This should take between 5-10 minutes to complete. Your self-assessment will be used to ensure our programme is tailored to meet the needs of your school*. Training and support will be available to primary and secondary schools in Norfolk from April 2017. *Please note, this programme is available to primary and secondary schools who have not already benefited from interventions to address HBT bullying funded by the Department for Education.
