Earlier this month, we published the new 2017-18 rates for Early Education funding in Norfolk. The 2 year old rate will be paid as one base rate £5.20), the 3 and 4 year old rate will be a combination of one base rate and up to three supplements. To receive one or more supplement certain criteria must be met.

For schools with nursery classes or a childcare provision which operates a 1:13 staff ratio, the new rate will be £3.65 (an increase of 35p) per hour funded. Where a 1:8 staff ratio is used an additional 20p quality supplement may be available.

In addition to the above, if a child can access their funding for at least 7.5 hours a day for at least two days a week, a flexibility supplement (20p per hour) will apply. The Deprivation supplement remains the same as 2016-17
