PLASC 2005

The 2005 PLASC return is required to be done on 20th January 2005. Files should be sent to the Management Information Centre (MIC) using Anycomms Secure Data Transfer (SDT). Any schools not able to use SDT should send the file on floppy disk to: MIC, Room B28, County Hall, Norwich, NR1 2DL.

Please ensure the PLASC file reaches the MIC by no later than 26th January 2005. It is important that files are received by this date in order that the budget share is issued as early as possible in February.

For Phoenix schools: Full guidance on producing your PLASC return will be available from 12th December 2004 at the latest on the ICT Solutions website.

Non-Phoenix schools will need to contact their appropriate support team. Further guidance is also available on the DfES website (select the approprate school type).

What you can do now

Install the latest (1.27) Phoenix upgrade. Once installed there are plenty of checks you can do to your data before then. We strongly advise you do these checks and not leave everything until January. You will find guidance on the ICT Solutions website.

Because of the importance to your school of the accuracy and timeliness of this return, we stongly advise anyone who will be responsible for the return who has not done one before to attend one of the sessions below. Of course, everyone is welcome - and they are free!

The presentations will give users an opportunity see a demonstration of the 2005 PLASC module within your Phoenix Gold software, understand the processes and procedures required and be aware of deadlines for completing and returning the data. There will also be an opportunity to ask any general questions that you may have concerning the PLASC return.
