Foundation Stage Self Review
Foundation Stage Self Review
a checklist for schools to support them in reviewing the quality of provision in the Foundation Stage
The aim of this document is to support schools in the continuing improvement of provision in the Foundation Stage. As you will be aware, accuracy and thoroughness of a school's self review process are the key indicators of its capacity to improve. This document will help to contribute to your Norfolk School Self Review process and, if needed to your pre-inspection self review. Settings in the private, voluntary and independent sector will also be completing this document.
In effective schools, the self review process is not a one-off occasion. We therefore suggest that judgements should be made at appropriate times throughout the school year with the intention to complete the document in time for the autumn term self review meeting with your RDA (starting in the autumn 2005). A copy of this document will be on ESINET:
http://www.esinet.norfolk.gov.uk/cadmin/misheets/FoundationStageSelfReview.doc
Information from the self review document will help us to target support and training to the areas of most need.
We hope that you will use this document to help you and your Foundation Stage Co-ordinator to identify the strengths that you have in your Foundation Stage, the aspects of provision where improvement is needed and the training needs of your staff. The document includes the key areas of Ofsted's Nursery Inspection Framework, the Ofsted School Inspection Framework, and is cross-referenced to the Care Standards.
Further briefings on the use of this document will be held from 4.30 pm - 6.00 pm on:
