14-19 Learning for All Norfolk Learners
14 - 19 Learning for All Norfolk Learners
For some time now we have had a draft document setting out our strategy and curriculum entitlement for all learners aged 14 - 19 in Norfolk. Following extensive consultation, the strategy, including the 14+ curriculum, has been formalised into policy.
Our vision for all 14+ learners is that:
"Learners are at the heart of everything we do. We want everyone, no matter what age, to be able to engage enthusiastically in the highest possible quality of learning."
We now need to implement the strategy to work towards the 14+ curriculum entitlement for all learners by 2008. I enclose 15 copies of the strategy and 3 copies of the A3 14+ curriculum entitlement for you to share with your staff. If you need further copies, please use the electronic versions available on the Esinet: http://www.esinet.norfolk.gov.uk/cadmin/misheets/14-19_Strategy_Nov_2004.pdf http://www.esinet.norfolk.gov.uk/cadmin/misheets/14+_curriculum_entitlement_Nov_2004.pdf
I have asked your Chair of Governors to table the 14 - 19 strategy at the next full governors' meeting to agree to its full implementation by 2008 and to record this agreement.
The 14 - 19 strategy complements the Learning and Skills Council Norfolk's Strategic Area Review. The 14+ curriculum entitlement is central to the 'education system model' proposed in the StAR consultation paper, November 2004. It is also the outcome of discussions with our many partners, and has been discussed at local and county meetings and conferences.
I would like to thank all those who have given their help and guidance. Their support has been invaluable.
