Consultation on the Model for Area SEN Partnerships in Norfolk

Consultation on the Model for Area SEN Partnerships in Norfolk

On 12th January 2005 the Education and Cultural Services Review Panel agreed the attached consultation paper on the new model of local SEN working in Norfolk as a way of improving provision for pupils with special and additional educational needs.

The development of local SEN Partnerships is a significant change which will impact upon the organisation and delivery of support to a large number of children and young people. The aim is to improve the quality of the educational experience for these pupils by placing them at the centre of the local learning community.

In considering your response we would ask that wherever possible you seek and consider the views of parents, carers and young people.

The consultation period is between the 1st February and 31st March 2005. All written responses will be made available for County Councillors to read and we will prepare a summary of the key issues raised.

Thank you for taking the time to read and complete the attached document which will help us to improve arrangements for special and additional educational needs in Norfolk for the future. If you do have any queries or wish to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact Graham Newell, SEN Review and Development Consultant whose contact details can be found at the top of this letter.
