John Craig Scam

Yet again schools are receiving chain letters requesting compliment slips or letter headings to be sent to John Craig. It is claimed he is a seven year old with terminal cancer and the compliments slips are required to gain entry into the Guiness Book of Records.

It is believed that John Craig may have originally existed but he would now be well over 20 years of age as he came to our attention around 1990.

Information that is often contained on a compliment slip or letterhead, particularly if signed, could enable someone to assume an identity, set up a bank account or falsify transations. If you receive one of these requests do not pass it on. It is not genuine.
