Management Information Sheet
School Courier Service
Procedures that schools should follow when sending important academic records through the Courier Service.
The courier is contracted to collect correspondence from schools for return to County Hall, this does not include deliveries of correspondence or packages to other schools or other educational establishments.
The courier will return packages addressed to other schools to County Hall. It has been a long standing requirement that when academic or school records are sent to County Hall, via the courier, for onward distribution, the school should email or telephone the post room that a package addressed to another school is being sent, naming the school to which the record is being transferred and the name of the pupil. These details should also be included on the package.
The package is then logged in on arrival at County Hall and logged out the following week when the courier is asked to deliver.
As you are aware, we handle a large amount of Royal Mail as well as school mail, and I am pleased to report that we have very few problems. In order to ensure that academic records do not go astray, please follow the procedure, and advice the post room on 01603 223446 that they are being sent to County Hall via the courier.
